Environment

We are continually evolving to suit the ever-changing needs of the environment we live in, our customers, the legislation that we must adhere to, as well as our corporate needs. We take into account the following environmental factors in everything we do:

- Energy efficiency
- Waste minimisation
- Reduction of transportation fuel
- Sourcing of timber products from managed sustainable forests
- Drainage protection
- Solvent reduction
- Minimising pollution
- Ensuring zero land contamination
- Reducing harmful emissions
- Minimising material consumption
- Promote recycling to our customers and suppliers
- Increase efficiency
- Purchasing from environmental friendly sources

Our efforts to use sustainable sources of wood have been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of Chain-of-Custody. This guarantees that the trees that are harvested are replaced or allowed to regenerate naturally. Parts of the forest are protected entirely, in order to protect rare animals and plants and, if indigenous people have sacred sites in the forest, these are exempt from felling. This certification gives an assurance that future generations will be able to enjoy the benefits of the forest. The forest owner must use local workers to run the forest, and provide training, safety equipment and a decent salary.
